Russian Ambassador to Indonesia Lyudmila Vorobieva expressed her condolences for the hundreds of fatalities in the incident at the Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang, Jawa Timur. In the Embassy's official Twitter account (Embassy of Russia to the Republic of Indonesia, his party expressed deep condolences for the victims and their families, and hoped that the victims who were still in intensive care in hospitals could recover.

Besides Russia, the Ambassador of the United States (US), Sung Y. Kim also previously expressed his condolences regarding the incident in Malang. He was saddened by the news of hundreds of people who died in the stadium.
"I am very sad to hear about the tragedy of football in Malang," he wrote on his Twitter account.
Previously, inside the Kanjuruhan stadium there was a clash between the supporters and the police. Arema FC supporters who do not accept the defeat enter the field and approach the players.
Then the police escorted the players to avoid the fans. The atmosphere became increasingly out of control, so the police finally fired tear gas, and trapped thousands of people inside the stadium
They usually experience suffocation, the impact of tear gas and jostling with other supporters who tried to get out of the stadium to save themselves.
